POSCO E&C Designs for the New Metropolitan City, Hanoi, Vietnam

Success is the goal, and it's been achieved once again by POSCO E&C!, which has culminated the design of the master plan for Hanoi's urban development project. It won the contract order for the urban modernization plan in a $6.4 million bid in 2008. Draws Hanoi as a green city to evoque environmentally-friendly and sustainable development.

Enhances the national status and provides more opportunities for domestic constructors to participate in oversea projects.

The project will expand the area of Hanoi from 921㎢ to 3344.6㎢ by more than three times, covering a wide range of areas including new urban development, road construction, water supply, sewage systems, electricity, river improvement, rail completion and information technology.

By setting up so-called Green Corridors to prevent indiscriminate development for environmental purposes, POSCO E&C has developed plans to build a future-oriented and sustainable urban environment.
※ A Green Corridor is to forest riverbanks or roads, and create an eco-friendly environment in order to diversify the kinds of wild life.
POSCO E&C also plans to take an active role in the construction of the project, which will contribute to the development of Vietnam and promote POSCO`s competitiveness of urban planning around the world.

To celebrate the successful completion of the plan, POSCO E&C presented the government with “a supersized model of the city” worth $2.8 million in order to contribute to the promotion of the new city by the government.
